Thanks to our vigilance in the matter of the Housing Benefit scams at Haringey, Enfiekd & Hackney Council in London, also our submissions and pressures on the Legal Aid Board (between July 1998 and December 1998) and netter still our submissions to the Home Secretary and the Prime Minister, action on 19 May 1999. The fact that it was an official announcement, from the Lord Chancellor's Department, declaring that cowboy lawyers* are to loose access to Legal Aid funds and facilities was good news. Our commet, then, "About time that we had laymen on panels looking into complaints about the activities of lawyers and in complaints submitted to the Legal Aid Board". We simply carried on publishing material and evidence attached to issues raised in our pages. In particular we rncourage all victims who contact us, NOT TO IGNORE THEIR DUTY TO REPORT CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES, in the piblic domain in all instances when there were blatant abuses of the courts facilities and abuse of Legal Aid Certificates via wrongly authorised issue of such, by public servants, for the benefit of 'The Merchants of Misery' © in contempt of facts of and the evidence in any case.
